Walt McCollum, a United States veteran, began his career in the plumbing industry over 35 years ago and has been serving the Long Beach Island area ever since. Over the years, our team has expanded - as did our service offerings - to include complete heating, ventilation, and air conditioning repairs and installations and, most recently, Winter House Watch services.
Walt McCollum Plumbing, Heating, Cooling operates on the belief that if you give quality service with friendly technicians at a fair price, your business will be successful. In addition, another core value of our organization is giving back and investing in our community.

Our founder and namesake, Walt McCollum, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Walt instilled an expectation of high-quality work with great service. We will continue his vision in everything we do and every client we work with. He was very proud of the work his team did and we know he will be watching over us every step forward.

Walter B. McCollum, 74, of Manahawkin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
Walt is a United States Veteran, who served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army.
In the early 1960’s, Walt moved to the Long Beach Island area where he entered the plumbing profession and met his wife, Josephine.
He took up golf and enjoyed many trips to Myrtle Beach and area golf courses with close friends and also enjoyed staying at his cabin in northeast Pennsylvania where he spent much time fishing.
He is the founder and namesake of Walt McCollum Plumbing, Heating, Cooling where the family-owned business continues to serve the area.
He always found it to be very important to be there for his family, his neighbors, and to support community organizations.
He is predeceased by his son, David M. McCollum and survived by his wife, Josephine E. Cheeseman McCollum, his sons Walter J. McCollum and Mark A. McCollum, and his grandchildren Kennedy J. McCollum and Zachary D. McCollum.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm with a service at 4:30 at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ. Burial will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017.
